Nice couple of days :-)

Night-time beach walks, big cake eating, lasagne making, work doing, God-talking, thinking, music listening - Just a few of the things I've been doing these last couple of days!

Good days they have been! (with one or two exceptions). Yesterday I met the Langstone hall group crew after their bible study and we went for a nice little walk on the beach (well... harboury/beachy thing by langstone!). Was really nice to spend time with those guys - they're all ace! Love 'em!

Today was nice, I got up and did a spot of work (a reeeeally tiny spot!) then went out with the girls from church and Cora (Loooovely lady from church) for much cake eating/tea drinking! We went to this amazing little cafe thingy which just has the hugest, gooeyest, most excellent cakes in the world.EVER. Was very nice, especially as it was just before my french lesson. Nice! Though the french lesson wasn't so good. I spent 35 mins sat in a room listening to half the class having a debate with our teacher about how rubbish they think the French lessons are this year etc etc and basically being quite unnecessarily rude. I came out of that lesson feeling quite sorry for the teacher and annoyed at how rude everyone was being... it was almost like being back at school...

Made lasagne for my house girlies today... pretty yummy if i do say so myself. No-one has died yet anyway so thats surely a good sign!

I was thinking today how much I enjoy my walks to and from uni. Sounds weird, but its the time when I do most of my good old indepth thinking! I love it when its chilly but with blue skies and sun and I can just casually walk along, thinking, praying, and just enjoying being in my mind. Its nice! These days I have so much going on that I rarely get those moments where I can be alone and think so its nice to be able to do it when Im toddling along outside in the wind, seeing whats going on in the world! Well.. in Portsmouth anyways!

Thats all for now dudes! xx

Well well well.... I've been rather RUBBISH at blogging haven't I....! Oopsy! I'll get better! Though I doubt anyone bothers to come and read this! I should publisise it more hmm?!

So what have I been up to?? Too much to mention! So i'll just mention the most important things! Teifion and Emma's baptisms, CU houseparty, getting to know freshers better!

The two baptisms were awesome! It was just really lovely listening to them both share their testimonies about what God has been doing in their lives and how they became Christians etc! Me likes testimonies. They're very exciting :-)

CU houseparty - wooooooo! What an awesome weekend of fun, craziness, learning about God & taking time out to spend with Him, getting to know the freshers better and meeting some new ones, getting out of Portsmouth to somewhere greener and generally prettier (Isle of Wight for those who don't know!) and just having endless insane games of Uno with some amazingly insane and wonderful people!
The only bad thing was the effect it has had on my tiredness levels... me sleepy! But I'll get over it soon enough!

Today it was a joy to walk into uni - It was like that crisp cold winter temperature but the sun was shining and the sky was blue- it was lush! Lectures weren't so great.... especially Spanish grammer... argh! Dont even go there! But hey-ho, I chose to do languages so I shall soldier on!

I may put some pics of houseparty on here v soon, so watch this space! And if you read my blog...like ever... why dontcha leave me a comment so I know whether I am talking to myself... which i probably am! But hey, s'all good!

Still loving friends

Today was good. Well there were good parts to it anyways. Church this morning was really cool - it was a family service and there was a guest speaker leading. It was rather different from the usual Eastney service but it was great! The message was about the fact that Jesus is the substitute for our sins - nothing that I've not heard before but its always great to be reminded of things because all too often I believe we can end up taking things for granted. After church most of us students went out to lunch as per usual which was nice.
When I got home I attempted to do some work but wasn't particularly feeling like doing much.... but just at the right time, one by one my beautiful housemates ended up in my room and we had the most amazing chat about all sorts of things that are bothering us and a brilliant time of prayer together. I just feel so thankful that we have this fabulous bond where we can do these sorts of things, get emotional, laugh, cry, pray and just be there for each other in the way that God wants his people to be there for each other! So just like yesterday I am praising God for friends and wondering where I'd be without them!
This evenings service was good, though I think I must be honest and say that my mind has been quite distracted the last couple of days and I didn't listen to the sermon in the way that I should have done so can't write much about what it was about....
Anyways I came back, did a spot of work and am now about to chill out and hopefully fall asleep.

I love friends!

Saturday... mmm, often an interesting day, never quite know whats gonna happen! I often start out with some sort of plan for the day which rarely works out the way I think! Today my plan was to do some work and generally mope around a bit. In reality it didn't quite pan out that way! I did get up, have a chat with Bri and Lorna, did a spot of work and moped around a little.... BUT then it got better. I needed a bit of cheering up and decided I was gonna go out for a walk... thing is, in Portsmouth there aren't a great deal of ''scenic'' places to walk...nonetheless, with the fabulous company of Lorna I took a stroll down to one of the nicer places - the beach! And d'ya know what, God's timing never ceases to make me smile - without any sort of planning we arrived down at the exact moment of sunset, if we'd have got there five minutes later the sun would have been gone. So we sat on the beach, surrounded by a gorgeous lilac sky with a wonderfully bright orange sun disappearing for the evening, it was so relaxing and exactly what I needed - Thanks God!! After that I just felt a whole lot cheerier and had a fab evening with Lorna, Bri and Graham (and X factor of course.... grrr @ Louis..!) We then went for a little drive and saw a few fireworks going off here there and everywhere. I guess my main thought today is how blessed I feel to have the friends that God has given me, not just the ones mentioned here but soooo many more! The last few days have really shown me that I am surrounded by amazing people here, constantly willing to listen to all my pathetic moanings about stupid things. So today is just an I LOVE FRIENDS post - lets always be thankful for lovely people! :-D

My first blog!!

Yayyyy! I have a blog!! Right, well this may not work at all and I may get bored and not have time to update it that much but we shall see how it goes won't we! Its just that everyone seems to have blogs now and I think its a really good way for me to keep in touch with people (cos I am RUBBISH at that sometimes.... aren't we all ay...?!)
Today has been pretty busy - had a 4 hour meeting with the rest of the CU comittee and a guy called Michael Otts who is gonna be our speaker for the CU's houseparty and also for mission week! He seems really cool and had some great ideas for our mission week! He also reinforced the point about the CU being there primarily for evangelism.... now i have heard this said over and over again but it never gets old! It is always something I need to be reminded of!! So often CU can just seem like our little social club BUT ITS SO MUCH MORE! Anyways, after the meeting I cooked for us - 11 people - yay! AND THERE WAS MORE THAN ENOUGH TO GO ROUND!! wooo! I was happy it worked out cos had been a bit ''ahhhh'' about it! No-one has food poisoning yet so its all good! Steve and Jo stayed round for a while and hung out in the coolest house in Portsmouth- yeah don't try and dispute it, you know its true! After that didn't really do much.... except Emma went into the kitchen and saw our little mouse friend/enemy.... I am very scared! Bri and Em assured me that there isn't going to be more than one but I am NOT convinced... I am not happy...sob sob!
Just to finish with - WHAT is up with the weather?? My room is freeeeeeezing at the mo!!!
